They say that there are people who have created in the days of the Covid-19. The only thing I have created is anxiety and stress in the face of slavery produced by the system that does nothing but send me surveys to analyze my social, economic and mental state. I didn't make a shit. Go to hell!
To this day, culture suffers from the imbalances of the stoppage of activity and for this reason I search for my wishes and list my needs. Impossible, everything is impossible. "

The artist Asun Requena seeks with her self-portraits to show the impossible desires and needs in the face of the situation that the Covid-19 has left. For this, she uses a mask with a textile design of one of her abstract creations and the wild plant of dandelions, typical of her land and with a special volumetric construction. Dandelion is related to the augury of good wishes after blowing and separating its ethereal parts in the air (such as blowing candles and blowing them out on a birthday cake).
It is not the first time that the artist uses the resource of closing her eyes, she also did it in her series Tránsito in 2008 to eliminate the information that a person's gaze gives us. In this case it is not for it but to emphasize the strength of the needs and desires, of their own.
The various photoperformance show different readings in their journey, as well as the elimination of the gaze leads us to an isolation of the parts-objects and their concepts, the open gaze photopercise makes us begin with the immensity and strength of the brown eyes of the. artist who shows all her life force, leaving the other objects such as the mask in the background of attention that blends with her red suit, being both fleeting and searing resources of the retina due to their color. "Maldita pandemia. Maldita lacra. Maldito confinamiento que ha conseguido volver a esclavizar a multitud de mujeres. Mi trabajo profesional no es considerado de primera necesidad según el Estado, pero sí el mantenimiento de la casa, las compras o la supervisión durante todas las mañanas de las tareas de los hijos y su posterior corrección.
Dicen que hay gente que ha creado en tiempos del Covid-19. Yo lo único que he creado es ansiedad y estrés ante la esclavitud producida por el sistema que no hace más que enviarme encuestas para que analice mi estado social, económico y mental. No hice ni una ¡Váyanse a la mierda!
A día de hoy, la cultura sufre los desajustes del parón de actividad y por ello busco mis deseos y enumero mis necesidades. Imposible, todo es imposible."
Asun Requena
La artista Asun Requena busca con sus autoretratos mostrar los deseos y necesidades imposibles ante la situación que ha dejado el Covid-19. Para ello utiliza mascarilla con un diseño textil de una de sus creaciones abstractas y la planta silvestre de diente de León, típica de su tierra y con una construcción volumétrica especial. El diente de León se relaciona con el augurio de los buenos deseos tras el soplado y la separación de sus partes etéreas en ele aire( como la acción de soplar las velas y apagarlas en una tarta de cumpleaños).
No es la primera vez que la artista utiliza el recurso de cerrar los ojos, también lo hizo en su serie Tránsito en 2008 para eliminar la información que nos da la mirada de una persona. En este caso no es para ello sino para enfatizar la fuerza de las necesidades y los deseos, de los suyos propios.
La diversas fotoperformance muestran lecturas diferentes en su recorrido, así como la eliminación de la mirada nos lleva a un aislamiento de las partes- objetos y sus conceptos, las fotoperformance de mirada abierta nos hacen comenzar por la inmensidad y fuerza de los ojos marrones de la artista que muestra toda su fuerza vital, dejando los demás objetos como la mascarilla en un segundo plano de atención que se funde con su traje rojo siendo por su color ambas recurso fugaz y abrasante de la retina. El descanso y segundo foco de atención, sus manos sujetando El diente de León.
